Pet Peeve #51: Uninvited Visitors!

I really do not understand why people show up to someone’s house unexpected and uninvited. I do know the people who tend to do this have no life, poor social skills and little to no friends. Call me or text me first before you come to my house. Give me time to work up a lie (forgive me Lord), so I can explain why now is not a good time to visit. When I am home, I am in my bag on super relax mode. If I wanted to see you, I would have visited, and if I wanted to talk, I would have called you on the telephone.

Why is it that uninvited visitors show up saying, “We thought you wanted company”. Did I say I wanted company? NO! That is just a dumb statement to justify your unexpected visit. When they come in your house they are always hungry, thirsty, or they always walk around the house. When my doorbell rings, I don’t come to the door, but I look out the window. I don’t do well with uninvited visitors and I do not have a problem with screaming from the window, “STOP IT! UGH”!

Pet Peeve #50: People who stink!

Celebrate Good Times Come on!!!!!!! Pet Peeve #50 is here!!! We have come a long way since Pet Peeve #1; therefore, I introduce Pet Peeve #50: People who stink!

Before writing this pet peeve, I had to check to see if I had discussed this topic with everyone. To my surprise I was shocked that I never discussed this matter. People who stink should have made the top ten list of pet peeves. Please understand I am aware that certain people have certain problems (sick, mental illness, homelessness, drug addictions and etc.) and their upkeep is affected. This pet peeve is not about those folks, but normal people who refuse to wash. I just do not understand how people can have foul body odor (BO). All of my friends smell good, so I do not know their thoughts. Someone needs to write a book called, “The Mind of Someone Who Smells”. Do you just not wash for a few days? Do you get wet, but not scrub? Do you only wash your arms and legs and neglect the vital body parts? I am having a hard time trying to understand why an able adult smells. Do you not smell yourself? What is going on? No matter what age you are, it is not kool to smell. Who said it was OK to wash once a month? Who made up that rule? Huh? SPEAK TO ME!!! Funk should not be your best friend. SAY NO TO FUNK! That is my new campaign! 1, 2, 3…… SAY NO TO FUNK! Here I go………….O to the M to the G!!!! Soap is so cheap!! How do you have a house with running water and you still come out the house rockin. That is just trifling on all levels! NO EXCUSES! Wash your funky butt and STOP IT! UGH!

Pet Peeve #49: People who wear tight clothing.

Before writing this pet peeve, I had to do some research because I had a feeling I wrote on this topic before. Yes, Pet Peeve #18 is “People who gain weight and wear tight clothing”, but I recently realized I have a problem with people who wear tight clothing in general. Is it too hard to find clothes that fit? Must you honestly force fabric to tear so you can wear something that is not even your size? Your buttons and zippers should not be on suicide watch! Do the fabric and buttons and zippers on your clothing some justice and find some clothes that fit. Denial will get you nowhere. Smh STOP IT! UGH!

Pet Peeve #47: When people look you in the eye and do not hold the elevator door.

Really though? You saw me coming, and you let the door close in my face. It is so rude knowing people are coming, and you let the door close in their face. UGH! If the doors are glass I just stand there with a blank look on my face that says, “Don’t let me catch you on the streets”. To be honest, I rather ride in the elevator alone. It is not my elevator but my personal preference. However, I know if I make eye contact with anyone trying to get the elevator I must try my best to hold the door for them. It is common courtesy. There have been occasions when I have hit the close door button 1,000 times, but no eye contact was ever made. That is the key. You can only be rude or selfish if you did not make any eye contact. So simple. If you are making contact and still letting the door close in people faces, STOP IT! UGH!

Pet Peeve #41: People whose pants are too high.

This pet peeve came to me today while waiting for the elevator. I happen to look down and I saw a good 5 inches between this lady’s shoe and the end of her pants. My first thought, “Who does this stuff these days”! It was horrible. Really though? Five inches of green socks. Was that really needed? If this lady is poor or those were her only socks, she could have just maybe pulled her pants down. I just kept looking down thinking again, “WTDuck, please do not wear your little sister’s pants to work ever again”! People all over the world! Please do not have that much space between your pants and shoes. As people on this planet we call earth, we must encourage everyone to STOP IT! UGH!

Pet Peeve #40: Dirty Finger Nails!

OMG! Dirty finger nails are not only a distraction, but they genuinely make me wonder about a person. I understand if you do dirty work or have one of those jobs that appear on Dirty Jobs; however, that is not always the case with most people. An auto mechanic would have the worst hands, but even they use gloves. I seriously want people to stop walking around as if they have been playing in mud all day. You are grown! Personal hygiene is extremely vital to me; therefore, I keep my nails short to prevent dirty nails. Please keep your nails clean and STOP living foul. STOP IT! UGH!

Pet Peeve #38: When big people get on a crowded elevator and say, “I think I can fit”.

What is up with big people getting on crowed elevators, seeing there is no room, but saying, “I think I can fit”. The killer is when they get on and the elevator beeps because too many people are on the elevator and the person looks around as if they are not the problem. On various occasions I was close to yelling, “YOU ARE GOING TO KILL US”! Why, “BECAUSE YOU CAN’T FIT”. I have actually created a formation with my coworkers to allow us to appear bigger and take up more space to prevent people and especially big people from getting on the elevator because there is no room. Please understand I have no problem with big people. I have a problem when big people get on a crowded elevator and say, “I think I can fit”, because they can’t fit. Stay in your lane and STOP IT! UGH!

Pet Peeve #31: Random people who send messages trying to hook up with someone on Facebook.

About a month ago I got a message from someone who I do not know trying to hook up with me on Facebook. This dude sent a long message that appeared as if he just hit copy and paste about how he like my profile and wanted to “get to know me”. This is Facebook and not match.com! I was so annoyed because my profile is blocked so this random dude never saw anything on my page. Dude, you copied and pasted your message and most likely to a few random girls. I will not fall victim to Internet crime nor will I be found in an alley. El Diablo!
I also need guys to stop using Jesus and their church commitment when trying to hook up with random girls on Facebook. If you happen to hook up with someone on Facebook, kool, but don’t send your love message to every female on Facebook. STOP IT! UGH! Diablo!

Pet Peeve #31d: Adults who argue with other people on Facebook.

Really though. Are we not adults? If you have problems with someone on Facebook, remove them from your friends list. Simple! Internet beef is so corny and immature. I don’t have much to say on this issue so please STOP IT! UGH!

Pet Peeve #31b: People who talk about their haters on Facebook.

Once again, this is another immature move. Must you really always discuss your haters? Internet beef though? What happened to face to face or even telephone interaction? Meet me at the park, meet me at the corner or even meet me afterschool? Since the comments are public, it is like you are trying to draw a crowd. This is Facebook and not the playground. Do not dedicate your time on Facebook to your haters. Even Jesus had haters, so I need you to please get over your haters. Personally, my haters do not even get space on Facebook because I don’t do free advertisement. Follow my approach on haters and STOP IT! UGH!

Pet Peeve #31a: People who always mention what they are doing with their relationship partner on Facebook.

This has actually bothered me for some time, and I am so glad this is pet peeve #31. While preparing to write this pet peeve, I realized I have many problems with people abusing the status box on Facebook. Unlike Myspace, once you post something on someone’s wall or in your status everyone will see it. This has become pet peeves within a pet peeve. Please, let me begin….

It truly becomes a bit much and to be quite honest, WHO CARES! I think it immediately goes from just putting it out there to people bragging. It seems so immature to always express what you are doing with your boo on Facebook. Ex. My baby took me out to the movies. My baby surprised me with lunch. I am looking at my baby. My baby is sitting next to me. Opening Christmas gifts from baby. Walking with baby. Is it not normal for you to do things with your baby? I do a lot with my fiancé, but I just feel like everyone does not need to know what we are doing when we do something. The problem is not one post or picture, but posts and pictures are ridiculous. Please, spare everyone’s eyes and keep that information between you and your baby. Dropkick! STOP IT! UGH!

Pet Peeve #26: Dumb people who think they are smart.

People are people no matter of their status, income, location and etc. We all come from the same stuff. However, there is something about a dumb person who thinks they are smart that allows me to believe they come from another place. Dumb in this case is not lack of knowledge or doing stupid things. These types of dumb people are dumb because they think they are smart. I don’t ever get it. They say and do the craziest things, and when you do not get it, you are now the dumb person. For some reason, they have the nerve to look down on other people as if they are stupid. Really though? You just created some foolishness, and now I am slow because it makes no sense? WHATEVER! Smart people never use their knowledge to look down on others. If they do, they are not smart. Dumb people who think they are smart, STOP IT! UGH!

Pet Peeve #25: People whose breath smells so bad you can smell it while their mouth is closed.

On several occasions, I have been enjoying life and minding my own business while I was attacked off guard by bad breath. It just smells as if someone is cooking dog crap in 100 degree weather. My initial response is nothing, but a sheer reaction of this unlawful smell. I immediately began looking to see if I stepped in dog crap while I am saying and thinking, “What the Duck is that”! Amazingly my eyes always single out one person in a crowd. Their mouth is closed so my eyes wander to find this “Bad Breath Attacker”, but my eyes return to the first person, Suspect #1. The problem with Suspect #1 is that their mouth is closed. After arguing with my eyes, I walk closer to Suspect #1 without knowing I am putting my life in danger. I never got face to face with Suspect #1 because the smell was so bad; however, I am able to draw the conclusion that Suspect #1 with the closed mouth is the “Bad Breath Attacker”. Why should everyone be able to smell your breath with your mouth closed? With a scent that awful, Suspect #1 knew their mouth was living a sinful life. That has unquestionably taken foul to the next level, and no matter what you do, you can’t hide your breath. I personally think the bad breath got so awful it decided to find other ways of escaping the closed mouth. People with bad breath and closed mouths worldwide, STOP IT! UGH!

Pet Peeve #18: People who are in denial about their size and wear tight clothing.

Through out the years, I have experienced weight gain and loss. With either side of the coin, I have learned all the tricks of wearing clothing that is too small or too big. However, I am no magician, so I understand I can only hide this problem temporarily and only with certain clothing. Keywords: No Magician, Temporarily and Certain Clothing. I just feel as those are certain words people who are gaining weight should consider every time they get dressed. I am so perturbed when I see people who are gaining weight or just people who wear small clothing.

1) It looks so uncomfortable.
2) It is not safe.
3) You are showing more than people want to see.
4) You are killing that poor fabric.

I can just hear the cotton say, “I can’t work under these conditions”! I am not talking about one size too small, but two or more sizes too tight. I encourage everyone to look in the mirror and make an honest assessment. I predict that a few people reading this blog will realize that it is time to buy new clothing that fits. I make a plea to the world to please not squeeze your body into tight clothing. You must STOP IT! Ugh!

Pet Peeve #9: People who get in line at the super market with 1,000 items knowing they have no money on their public assistance card.

Out of the various task life contains going to the supermarket is not always the most favourable task. You spend time trying to find the best prices, because you realized the prizes went up. You maneuver your cart through the crowded aisle with people who just randomly stop without warning, and you listen to the horrible sounds of children screaming, “I WANT ________”. With most people, your goal when visiting the market is simply to get in and get out. I am not sure why this will always happen, but a problem will always occur in the check-out line. I have a few pet peeves about the check-out line, but it kills me when people get in line with a lot of items try to pay with their public assistance card and it gets denied. At first, I would feel sorry for the person thinking it was something they could not control, but a lot of people do this on purpose! I am only talking about the people who knew they only had $5.00 on their card, but got in line with $75.00 worth of food and no money. Is it too much to check your balance before you go shopping? To add fire to the flame, they want to talk to the manager. Are you serious? You are wrong! You knew you had no money on the card before you left the house! But wait………It gets worst………The line is really on hold, because the person is now trying to figure out what items they are going to keep. Oh the foolishness on so many levels!!! STOP IT! Ugh!

Pet Peeve #8: People who wear socks with sandals.

WHY LORD WHY LORD WHY!!!! I just don’t understand why/how people wear socks and sandals. I am not talking about the athletic slip-on shoes athletes wear after a game or practice but straight up sandals. It is such an eye sore and one of the biggest fashion blunders ever. I just do not get how people will rock flip flops with socks or any sandal with socks. That is just so wrong on every level possible. We have options in the shoe world. If your feet are cold, wear shoes!!! Chocolate and Nuts are a great team. Peanut butter was made for Jelly, but socks and sandals are like oil and vinegar. They will never agree. If your feet are ugly or you need a pedicure, once again, WEAR SHOES!!! STOP IT! Ugh!

Pet Peeve #6: When people sit next to me on the bus and there are 15 open available seats.

I would take the bus to work and my stop was one of the first stops, so seating was always abundant. There was a particular window seat I preferred and my stop would allow me to sit there every day. I am sitting on the bus getting my mind right for a day of work. Everything is peaceful until someone sits next to me on the bus. It is 7:15 in the morning and someone has just tested my gangster! Are YOU Serious?! This person just walked by 15 open available seats and walks to the back of the bus to sit next to me. Not a guy trying to talk to me, but it is always some random lady in her middle 50’s. Foolishness on all levels! I gave her a few minutes thinking she will realize sitting next to me is pointless, but she does not move. Watching more people get off the bus is adding fuel to the fire and the lady does not move. Eventually I gave the lady the 3 second stare and just got up and sat at another seat. I just do not feel like people respect the personal space of other people these days. STOP IT! Ugh!

Pet Peeve #3: Competent people who take the elevator to the next floor.

I understand a lot of situations may cause someone to take the elevator to the next floor; however, my problem is not with those people. My building at work has the unfortunate mishap of having fire drills because someone has burned popcorn. Yes, burnt popcorn will cause two 22 and 15 story buildings to evacuate. We spend 15 minutes in the stairway trying to escape, 10 minutes standing outside with sore legs and 20 minutes waiting for the elevator to return to work. Without fail, while waiting for the elevator, I hear someone complaining extremely loudly about the situation. They are upset about the burnt popcorn, the trip down the stairs, and now, the long wait for the elevator. I get on the elevator, and the people push their floor, and this same person who was complaining pushes the number 2. OMG! You are going to the second floor. You waited in line for almost 30 minutes to avoid 1 flight of stairs. Everyone in the elevator is sooooooooooo heated and once they get off someone will say, “They could have taken the stairs”. People who are perfectly able to go up one flight of stairs do this all over in America. STOP IT! Ugh!
