Pet Peeve #51: Uninvited Visitors!

I really do not understand why people show up to someone’s house unexpected and uninvited. I do know the people who tend to do this have no life, poor social skills and little to no friends. Call me or text me first before you come to my house. Give me time to work up a lie (forgive me Lord), so I can explain why now is not a good time to visit. When I am home, I am in my bag on super relax mode. If I wanted to see you, I would have visited, and if I wanted to talk, I would have called you on the telephone.

Why is it that uninvited visitors show up saying, “We thought you wanted company”. Did I say I wanted company? NO! That is just a dumb statement to justify your unexpected visit. When they come in your house they are always hungry, thirsty, or they always walk around the house. When my doorbell rings, I don’t come to the door, but I look out the window. I don’t do well with uninvited visitors and I do not have a problem with screaming from the window, “STOP IT! UGH”!

Pet Peeve #41: People whose pants are too high.

This pet peeve came to me today while waiting for the elevator. I happen to look down and I saw a good 5 inches between this lady’s shoe and the end of her pants. My first thought, “Who does this stuff these days”! It was horrible. Really though? Five inches of green socks. Was that really needed? If this lady is poor or those were her only socks, she could have just maybe pulled her pants down. I just kept looking down thinking again, “WTDuck, please do not wear your little sister’s pants to work ever again”! People all over the world! Please do not have that much space between your pants and shoes. As people on this planet we call earth, we must encourage everyone to STOP IT! UGH!

Pet Peeve #39: When people walk around naked for no reason in the locker room at the gym.

If you are a male or female and belong to a gym, you will see someone naked in the locker room. It comes with the territory. Whenever I join a gym, I just prepare myself mentally. People shower and change their clothes in the locker room, so it is understandable and likely to be naked. However, I need people to not walk around the locker room with no clothes on for GP (general purposes). It is like people walk around just because it is a relatively public place you can walk around naked. It is like a “C’mon Son” moment by Ed Lover. You seriously need to walk around naked to use the bathroom? You can’t use your towel or wear a shirt? That is so nasty! STOP IT! UGH!

Pet Peeve #38: When big people get on a crowded elevator and say, “I think I can fit”.

What is up with big people getting on crowed elevators, seeing there is no room, but saying, “I think I can fit”. The killer is when they get on and the elevator beeps because too many people are on the elevator and the person looks around as if they are not the problem. On various occasions I was close to yelling, “YOU ARE GOING TO KILL US”! Why, “BECAUSE YOU CAN’T FIT”. I have actually created a formation with my coworkers to allow us to appear bigger and take up more space to prevent people and especially big people from getting on the elevator because there is no room. Please understand I have no problem with big people. I have a problem when big people get on a crowded elevator and say, “I think I can fit”, because they can’t fit. Stay in your lane and STOP IT! UGH!

Pet Peeve #35: People who think toe fungus and open-toe shoes go together.

Just thinking about this pet peeve makes me want to throw up in my mouth. I just feel as no one is being totally honest when it comes to open toe shoes. Open-toe shoes and flip flops are for people with presentable feet and toes. Keyword- Presentable! People should not look down and throw up! We fix our face if it does not look right. We make it presentable for the public, and if your feet are exposed to the public, it should follow the same rule. Everything is not for everyone. If you can not see, driving a car is not for you. If you can not speak, working customer service should not be your job. If you can not read, teaching children may not be your cup of tea. If you are 5 feet, 4 inches and 100 pounds, you may want to reconsider being in the NFL and NBA. If you have no rhythm, you most likely will not win “So You Think You Can Dance”. I want to say if you can not sing, a singing career is not for you, but Kandi Burruss has changed the game with “Tardy for the Party” and “The Ring Don’t Mean a Thing” but I digress.... If you have toe fungus, I need you to understand open-toe shoes are not your thing. You can’t do it! Give it up! Please, get professional help before you even say the words “flip flop or sandal”. If you have foul feet and you feel the devil tempting you to wear open-toe shoes remember this, STOP IT! UGH!

Pet Peeve #34: People who need a ride but are never ready when you show up.

Seriously, all non drivers in need of a ride. Be ready when your ride pulls up and STOP making them wait. STOP IT! UGH!

Pet Peeve # 33: People who do not wash each piece of silverware when doing the dishes.

Whenever I need to use silverware or any dish I expect whatever I use to be clean. I am using this bowl, cup, plate, knife, spoon or fork trusting that the person who did the dishes cleaned each piece of dishware properly. HOWEVER, I am learning that people are living foul and not cleaning each piece of silverware. Instead, they group them together and run water over them. OMG! That is so disgusting! That is like getting wet in the shower and not washing your body. If you eat with each piece of silverware, then each piece should be cleaned the way it was used, separately! I have also realized this is a hidden action that most normal people will not admit when asked. Without making it too obvious, watch someone do the dishes, and you will discover the reason behind the swine flu, bird flu or the flu in your household. Once you witness this despicable action take place you say, “STOP IT! UGH”!

Pet Peeve #32: The United States Postal Service.

OMG!!!!!!!!! I am not saying that every post office is the worst, but I will say the post offices I use are the worst. My issues are the line, the poor level of customer service and the lack of staff. Yesterday I went to the post office, and the line was at the door. I said, “Ummmmmmmmmm ok. I will return later in the day”. I returned later in the day to find the line at the door, again. I decided to visit another post office after work. I visit another post office to find 30 people in line. I stood on line for 15 minutes and the line NEVER moved. Why am I waiting in line as if I am waiting to get on the Great American Scream Machine at Six Flags Great Adventure. El Diablo! What bothers me the most about each post office was that they both had two people working behind the counter. Really though? Two people working and the line is at the door. It kills me because they move as if there are two people in line waiting to be served. Where is the sense of urgency? Can you work on moving the line? At times when I wait close to 30 minutes, (on a good day) they have the nerve to give me attitude. R U Serious!?! I pay taxes and your salary! Due to a few random shootings by postal workers people are scared to say something in the event a postal worker decides to go postal and kills everyone. However, I am no punk and to every horrible post office, STOP IT! UGH! And bring back the stamp machines too!

Pet Peeve #31d: Adults who argue with other people on Facebook.

Really though. Are we not adults? If you have problems with someone on Facebook, remove them from your friends list. Simple! Internet beef is so corny and immature. I don’t have much to say on this issue so please STOP IT! UGH!

Pet Peeve #31c: People who always mention their location on Facebook.

To be honest, no one cares! Do you think it is essential that everyone always needs to know your location? If so, why is it necessary? I understand mentioning it here and there with significant key locations, but no one needs to read or know your daily itinerary. How about safety? Just let the killer know where you are going or where you are currently located. How about you even let the thief know all the lovely things you are buying for your place. TMI! STOP IT! UGH!

Pet Peeve #31b: People who talk about their haters on Facebook.

Once again, this is another immature move. Must you really always discuss your haters? Internet beef though? What happened to face to face or even telephone interaction? Meet me at the park, meet me at the corner or even meet me afterschool? Since the comments are public, it is like you are trying to draw a crowd. This is Facebook and not the playground. Do not dedicate your time on Facebook to your haters. Even Jesus had haters, so I need you to please get over your haters. Personally, my haters do not even get space on Facebook because I don’t do free advertisement. Follow my approach on haters and STOP IT! UGH!

Pet Peeve #31a: People who always mention what they are doing with their relationship partner on Facebook.

This has actually bothered me for some time, and I am so glad this is pet peeve #31. While preparing to write this pet peeve, I realized I have many problems with people abusing the status box on Facebook. Unlike Myspace, once you post something on someone’s wall or in your status everyone will see it. This has become pet peeves within a pet peeve. Please, let me begin….

It truly becomes a bit much and to be quite honest, WHO CARES! I think it immediately goes from just putting it out there to people bragging. It seems so immature to always express what you are doing with your boo on Facebook. Ex. My baby took me out to the movies. My baby surprised me with lunch. I am looking at my baby. My baby is sitting next to me. Opening Christmas gifts from baby. Walking with baby. Is it not normal for you to do things with your baby? I do a lot with my fiancĂ©, but I just feel like everyone does not need to know what we are doing when we do something. The problem is not one post or picture, but posts and pictures are ridiculous. Please, spare everyone’s eyes and keep that information between you and your baby. Dropkick! STOP IT! UGH!

Pet Peeve #30: Women who do not shave their mustache.

A difference between men and women are the locations on the body where hair will and will not grow. Men tend to have hair on their face compared to women only having it on their head, along with other neutral locations. However, there are times that hair may grow on a woman’s face. That is normal; however, letting it grow into a full grown mustache is a problem. I understand there is a myth floating around that states if you pluck or cut one, hair it will grow back thicker, but it is not true. Ladies, you can not walk around looking like Cousin It is sitting on your face. Trying to talk to a woman with a mustache is worst than talking to someone with chipped nail polish. It is such a major distraction and during the conversation I am thinking, “When is this lady going to the barbershop”? Ladies, SHAVE IT OFF! If it grows back again, SHAVE IT OFF, AGAIN! STOP IT! UGH!

Pet Peeve #24: People who gift wrap cards.

The only person I know to do this is my mother, but I am sure there are more people in the world who commit this heinous crime. I do not think I alone should have to go through this, so I am writing this pet peeve to help everyone. I mean…..like…………listen………..seriously. It is a card (straight face). Cards are not meant to be gift wrapped. It comes with its own distinct packaging called, (music please) “The envelope”. I know it is the holiday season and we wrap presents, but not cards! Having to unwrap a card is a traumatic experience. So in the spirit of Christmas, STOP IT! UGH!

Pet Peeve #23: People on Section 8 who pay their rent late.

The pet peeves are global, so I am going to explain Section 8 before I describe my feelings on this pet peeve. Section 8 is a program that helps low-income families with their rent. It provides a rental voucher that will cover their entire rent or a portion. The program is for low-income families and their rent can be free or as low as $20.00 a month for housing that cost $800.00 a month. This is a great program that helps a lot of families, but I do not get how people on this program pay their rent late. The rent is structured at a price the participant can afford, so what is the problem?!? This pet peeve does not apply to everyone on Section 8, but it applies to people who have the money for rent and the people going shopping every week and paying their $8.00 a month rent late. Sad thing is that I knew someone who had Section 8 and got evicted for paying their $8.00 a month rent late. How trifling is that? You could hustle $8.00 on the streets if needed. You trying to be all “You Fancy, Huh” and you can’t pay your Section 8 rent on time. You have no excuse! In the words of Soulja Boy, “GET OUT MY FACE”! STOP IT! UGH!

Pet Peeve # 22: When people wash and reuse plastic utensils.

Plastic utensils differ from silverware, because they are disposable. Their usage is only intended to be used once and once you are done, they go in the trash. Unlike silverware, you do not need to put them in the sink or dishwasher, because they are disposable and that might explain why you can not buy one plastic fork, spoon or knife. Keyword: Disposable. I am so bothered when I see plastic utensils in the sink or dish rack. Are you serious? I have gotten into arguments with my mother, because I would throw away her reused plastic utensils. I even think people take it too far with the plastic containers they get from take-out restaurants. I will agree that some of the more sturdy higher quality containers are good to keep, but not all of them. When I see plastic utensils in the sink or dish rack I throw them away, but seeing take-out containers calls for a talk. Please, stop trying to save disposable things! STOP IT! UGH!
