Pet Peeve #46: People with big stomachs who think they have six pack abs.

Why Lord Why! I think the sad thing about this pet peeve is that this is not a new problem. For reason people from way back when think it is OK to have their super large belly hanging out. Not only is it an eyesore it is sooooooooo disgusting. If your stomach begins to take the shape of a 3D object, then it is not suitable for the public. If your stomach begins to hang over your pants, you really want to cover to your stomach. People with the big stomachs, you must pick and choose your battles carefully. Everything ain’t for everybody. Simple concept. People with big stomachs cannot show their stomachs like people can with flat stomachs. It is very close to too late to work a miracle for summer 2011, but you have time for summer 2012. Handle your business and come back in 2012 looking right. I say all of this out of love. PLLLEEEAAAAAAAASSSSSEEEEEE do not get a piercing in your belly, as well. To be honest, it will just get lost once your stomach folds. Don’t do it. Not a good look. Take my honest advice out of love and STOP IT! UGH!

Pet Peeve #27: When people get gastric bypass surgery, keep it a secret and ask you if they lost weight.

Gastric bypass is a surgery that makes the stomach smaller and allows food to bypass part of the small intestine (webmd.com). This is typically an option for people who are overweight. A small stomach means less food a person can eat resulting in weight loss and in most cases, dramatic weight loss. Even with the great benefits, a person can die from this procedure, so candidates are scanned carefully.

I have family members and friends who had gastric bypass, so I have no problem with this procedure. For various reasons, a few have decided to keep it a secret, which is still not a problem. However, you can not have rapid considerable weight loss, and expect no one to notice. Since it is becoming quite popular, everyone will pretty much figure out you had gastric bypass.

1) Dropping 50 pounds in one month is extremely noticeable.
2) You took an unexplainable leave of absence, and you shockingly return 6 sizes smaller.
3) STOP asking people if you lost weight as if you don’t know you lost 50 pounds.

I mean………..it is just downright annoying. We know you lost weight and had gastric bypass surgery, but out of respect, no one will mention it so please, STOP IT! UGH!
